Christy Talbott,
Portrait Artist
As featured in Virginia Living Magazine.I’m Christy Talbott, a portrait artist who mainly does commissioned children’s portraits, but I also work from life at Crooked Oak Art Studio in Hanover, Virginia.
I draw, paint, and sculpt people in pastel, charcoal, oil, and clay. I started with a degree in Fashion Illustration and have taken commissions since high school. Everything I know about fine art, I learned by doing it, and by studying in recent years with some of the finest portrait artists working today, Everett Raymond Kinstler, Scott Burdick, Leroy Transfield, and others.
For adult clients, I love to work from live sitters, because a photo doesn’t always show how someone holds themselves or how light moves across a face. At the studio you can sit for a portrait, join a drawing session with a live model, or come to an Art Dinner.
